Title: lanse 15 & 1/4
Post by: jason on May 09, 2003, 04:46:27 PM
 It's such a long way to July. . .

I'm thinking of doing a C&C Generals - mini LAN  from 10 AM (prompt) on some weekend in June - Saturday to 14:00 Sunday.

No frills, No food

Just good dirty C&C action

Need about 8 ppl

any takers?

Oh. . . the only condition is we don't play C&C G during "peak" times at LANSE 16

we are playing C&C Generals "only" weekend

held in the usual venue in high wycombe.

I think we have our 8 players for the weekend tho. . . unless you can find 3 more to make it a 12?

The next "proper" lan ins't until July - that'll be a ful-on affair

ok right. . . this is the list:

David Scott
Justin hawkes
Kevin Wright
Jason Halls
Adam Fineman  x2
Gareth Hoggins
Trev B

There are a few others who want to attend as well. . . but to make things flow smoothly we need another 4

Three of which are:
Cosmo
The Mole
Trauma

If anyone is unable to go (on the top list) please can you say.

I don't have a problem with the 3 extra ppl going as it could make for some variation.

Up to you guys. . .

The more the better, always good to have 2 games on a time, so if u get kicked out early inone you could make the start of another, then we can have breaks to talk about how it went in the individual games, and maybe have a 2v2 league and a 1v1 leage going on...

ooooooo

6 1v1 games going on at the same time then 3 1v1 winners then 1 1v1 finals :P Held at the end when were all skilled :)

CAN'T WAIT!!!

So this LAN is going to be pure generals then? This i can handle as i like RTS's pity there arn't any fun mods out there though.

Unlike in warcraft 3

Tower defend
Team tower defend
Counterstrike warcraft
ANd the mighty SHEEP TAG!!!

Quite a strong player. . . the conversation went like:

BK: Where's your nuke
Bluey: I've just started building it.

BK: FFS 20 overloards incomming. . . I can't see any of yours!
Bluey: I'm already building them.
BK: I'll send in the arourer's

Bluey: Need a target for a nuke
BK: One sec. . .   (me scan's map). . . drop it there.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1

I thnk the nuke in the middle was a bit of a turning point, 7 overlords and some upgrade USA buggies got nuked and then picked off by a small band of my own overlords :/

Bluey: Need a target for a nuke
BK: One sec. . . (me scan's map). . . drop it there.
Bluey: What there?
Bluey: Right there on the left? Ok
5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Bluey gets a  promotion

lol bout 8 choppers round a ion cannon :)

Was an enjoyable game that taught me a lot, thanks :)

Cheers for the tip, a bit annoying when your in the middle of a game and porn keeps bombing you to desktop, at least it wasn't breast enlargements again

More Generals fun last night, the Overlord possy had a good night out on the town, much drunken stumbling through USA and Chinese bases :)

Some how ive managed to be on the winning side for every game  :o  Im worried!
But I know that's only because me and Sushi were China and USA while we went up against a weakened BK and DaveBloke as the GLA But BK you've gotta love those annoying rocket buggies <_<

And Davebloke's pesky round the back base stealing attacks

Mines proved usefull and one gattling cannon in the end :)

Thats the true power of the GLA, being sneaky buggers, playing with chemicals and pesky rocket buggies and also nicking all my stuff via Jarmin!

Ive yet to use Highjackers effectively though.

I think there was just about enough generals there to last me a while!

So who's up fpr some tuesady night then?

Seriously though i had a laugh and learnt some new tactics, specificly the annoyingness of arora bombers and having to build a wall of power stations if you're playing DaveBloke :)

Back to battlefields then, but im up for generals whenever you feel like it.

eh?
Title: lanse 15 & 1/4
Post by: Bluey on June 23, 2003, 01:15:02 PM
On the second from last game i think we played DaveBloke kept bombing my powerstations with aroras on to a station and as they power the missile sites when the power went down so did   my defences allowing his aroras to reload, hence having to build shed loads of power so you can sustain a decent hit and take out the fleeing aroras. Simple but effective.

/EDIT But then i did do the exact same thing the night before when i pinned jason down with that tactic.

Looks interesting, could be used to put some spice into any games we play now after we played it to death at the weekend :)

I also like the look of the A10 Thunderbolt, though I have to ask, what sort of damage does the arora mk II do? (it had to be asked)

The ability for carpet bomb and napalm are going to fill that right hand side of the screen a bit :) or do you launch them from the building?

Quote
yes (git) you did!

Well i had to win one at least! Plus you can't use tanks on that map, well unless you chopper them over, did you like my row of missile towers in your base?  ;)

Pro:Gen For Command & Conquer: Generals
V1.4

Thanks for using Pro:Gen! Theres a couple of important things to note before you install
it - please read this, it aint called 'ReadMe' for nothing ;)

* Pro:Gen is a 'standalone' mod - it wont work in conjunction with any other mods you may
have installed, so remove them before you install it.

* Pro:Gen wont work with special AI enhancements/mods such as RVMECHs 'Almost Human AI'. If
you make use of any maps that use such enhancements, sorry but they wont work with Pro:Gen.
A future update/version will include the code necessary to make these things compatable.

* Pro:Gen is a one-way deal - if you want to play Generals with the Pro:Gen enhancements,
simply install it. When you want to go back to playing Generals normally again, you should
simply uninstall it. Theres no option to enable/disable it between games, but again this
may come in a future update/version. Pro:Gen does not need the '-mod' command line switch
(and for that matter it wont work with it either).

* As a safety measure, you should make a backup of the 'Scripts' folder which can be found
in the Command and Conquer Generals\Data directory. You should restore this backup when you
uninstall Pro:Gen. This isnt absolutely necessary but it will help to prevent any errors
when playing online after you remove the mod.

* Pro:Gen can (optionally) enable the Officers Club features for you. Choose a Custom setup
type to enable these features. DO NOT choose this option if you already have the Officers
Club installed and enabled.

* You can uninstall Pro:Gen or repair a corrupt installation through your computers Control
Panel application at any time.

Good luck General!

FIXES & ENHANCEMENTS
V1.4
- Corrections to some tooltips/typos/spelling problems
- Pro:Gen is now 100% compatable with WorldBuilder which can now be launched from the main
menu again (NOTE: lots of RAM required to run both the game and the editor!)
- Multiple amendments to scripting routines to reduce possibility of mismatches/sync errors
- Fixed problem where Flash Bangs and Stun Bulets could sometimes be used without upgrades
- Each sides Generals now all have names for extra uniqueness
- Fixed visual problem on Nuke Cannon when ordered to bombard a location

Taken from the Pro:Gen User Guide-

Pro:Gen adds a higher degree of randomness to multiplayer games as well as providing more tactical options for Generals on the battlefield. All Generals should take note that the following have recently been observed in theaters of operation.

o Radio Stations can be found on some battlefields. Click here for a detailed briefing on this structure.

o Supply Warehouses are rare. Although they act in the same way as Supply Docks in that they cannot be destroyed and provide supplies, you can force-attack them to damage their contents thus deprive an enemy of resources. Over time, Supply Warehouses will repair and replenish themselves although a strategy of causing continual severe damage to them provides a reliable way of interrupting enemy supply chains.

o Caves have also been found to be in use. Click here for a detailed briefing on cave systems.

Pro:Gen implements a large array of changes to Command & Conquer: Generals. Many of these changes may seem transparent to users, although this is an intentional design element as the overall difference to gameplay and strategy is the sum of this large number of small changes coupled with some gameplay enhancements with the aim of remaining true to the game and its concept. The following links will take you to more specific briefings on the overall gameplay changes and it is recommended that all Generals familiarize themselves with these for maximum combat effectiveness.

Pro:Gen redefines the playing strategy of both players and factions alike in Command & Conquer: Generals. As each side, you can now choose to play the game as one of 3 Generals, each of which has his own distinct playing style, upgrades, abilities and units. This effectively gives you 9 different ways to play the game and demands a higher degree of strategic thinking as well as greater collaboration between allies - no longer is everything available to every player.

You choose your General by accessing the Generals Experience Menu in the usual manner. You will see the available Generals on the left of the menu, and you must choose a General before you are able to make use of any skills, abilities, upgrades and units available to you. Although you will acquire Generals Experience Points in the usual manner, the menu will indicate that you have none until you have selected a General - this is purely to serve as a reminder that you must choose a General first.

You can also progress from your default ranking of 1 Star General right through to 5 Star General earning more skills and abilities in the process. It is more difficult to win games as any single General and to progress in rankings, providing a greater challenge to players as well as emphasizing the need for collaboration in multiplayer games, and making for some interesting alliances when Generals, perhaps from differing sides, are combined.

At 2 and 4 Star levels, the abilities available are specific to each General and at 3 and 5 Star levels any General can choose any ability. The borders around each General and their respective abilities are color co-ordinated to facilitiate the available choices.

More strategically minded Generals can obtain additional skills. Should you capture an enemy Command Center, you will gain access for example to their Paradrop (providing you have obtained your own Paradrop ability from your Generals Experience Menu). Alternatively, destruction of a Chinese or American Command Center will result in the General himself being exposed on the battelfield. Naturally, the Generals can be killed, although capturing a General instead will result in a significant boost to your promotion prospects as this will yield a large number of skill points.

Note that GLA Generals do not emerge from destroyed GLA Command Centers. GLA Generals rarely show their face on the battlefield and seldom support their troops with a personal presence in the theater of operation.

Remember that you must choose a General before you are able to access specific units, upgrades and abilities. Once you have chosen your General, any Command Centers that you subsequently construct will display the flag and logo of your chosen General.

o China Overview

China has vastly modernized its forces and applied a more flexible structure to its chain of command allowing its army to be deployed appropriate to battlefield conditions. The command of the Chinese forces now falls to 3 Generals and you will assume the role of one of these each time you play. The following links will take you to more specific detailed briefings.

- Red Guard soldiers can now utilize a bayonet attack. Select the soldier(s), order them to equip their bayonet from the Command Bar then target an enemy soldier. Bayonet attacks are lethal although they rely on the ability of the soldier(s) to get close enough to execute the attack.

- Be mindful that all Chinese vehicles will now move slower when damaged like all other vehicles in the game.

- All Gattling weapons, including Gattling Cannons, must now have line-of-sight to their targets in order to fire upon them. Gattling Tank anti-air effectiveness has been slightly improved.

- China can now use the Propaganda Center in order to capture enemy soldiers. Click here for a detailed briefing of the Propaganda Center and the POW Truck.

- The Black Napalm upgrade will now correctly apply improved damage capability on all appropriate weapons and units.

- At 5 Star Level, Chinese Generals are able to call upon the elite Iron Dragon jets to strafe an area with Napalm. If the Black Napalm upgrade is purchased, this will also improve the effectiveness of the Napalm Strike.

- Bunkers now take slightly longer to construct - they can no longer be built in an instant.

- For convenience, the Troop Crawler can now be ordered to force its troops to exit and attack a selected target from the Command Bar.

- MiGs will now indicate when they have been 'locked-on' by enemy anti-aircraft weapons allowing you to evade being shot down. MiGs are also more expensive to reflect their enhanced General-specific abilities.

- China Generals can make use of the Emergency Repair at 2 Star level. This can conduct heavy repairs to vehicles in order to prolong their war effort when not under the effects of Speaker Towers. Note that the Emergency Repair will not affect units which are already being repaired by being within the range of any Speaker Tower.

- Overlord Tanks will no longer acquire the ability to detect stealthed units when they are fitted with a Gattling Cannon. This function is provided by the Troop Crawler.

- Nuke Cannons can now be ordered to bombard a location, allowing them to remain deployed and continually fire nuclear shells.

- At 3 Star Level, Chinese Generals are able to produce larger Supply Trucks. These carry much more supplies and are heavily armored but move slightly slower than the standard Supply Truck.

o Red Army

The Red Army General specializes in overwhelming enemies through his strength in sheer numerical superiority. The following are available exclusively to Red Army Generals.

- Red Guard Training is now exclusive to this General, allowing him to produce 'veteran' Red Guard soldiers.

- Uniquely, this General is able to train Siege Soldiers. Armed with a long range heavy rocket launcher, they can be equally effective in defense or offense. Like other Chinese soldiers they benefit from operating in larger numbers and can be improved through Nationalism although they are slow moving and can be hampered by the time it takes them to set up their weapon for use, thus these soldiers are not intended to be used alone.

- At 3 Star level, Red Army Generals can employ a Paradrop. Supporting the Chinese strategy of numerical superiority, the paradrop consists of 2 drops of 10 Red Guard soliders, allowing the General to immediately add a numerical advantage to his forces anywhere on the battlefield.

o Special Weapons

The Special Weapons General has access to advanced weaponry and is perhaps the most flexible General, being able to employ weapons and strategies to almost any combat eventuality. The following are available exclusively to Special Weapons Generals.

- The Chain Gun upgrade is exclusive to this General.

- This General is able to exclusively produce the Nuke Cannon.

- MiGs can be upgraded with longer range missiles by this General.

- Depleted Uranium Shells can only be employed by this General.

- This is the only General who can call upon Cluster Mines to be deployed by air.

- Special Weapons Generals can now choose to make use of 'nuke' Trucks from the Propaganda Center. Carrying a timed nuclear charge, these can be driven to areas of the map or at enemy positions and detonated to cause immense damage and leave residual fields of radiation in their wake. Because of the complexity of their construction, you can only use one of these at a time.

o Secret Police

When employed tactfully, the Secret Police General has the ability to crush opponents not by brute force, but more by coersion and by hitting them where it hurts most - their economy. Troops are fiercely loyal to this General, and the following are exclusive to Secret Police Generals.

- Subliminal Messaging can only be employed by this General.

- At 2 Star level, this General can use the Propaganda Center to spread its subliminal messages to enemy units. This takes the form of a 'defector' function, which can be used to turn one enemy unit to your side. During the defection process, the unit will flash and a sound will be heard in the same manner as when a building is being captured. Whilst in this state, you can control the unit but cannot order it to attack or fire until its defection is complete. Units announce their defection with the same voice they use when they are first created.

- The Cash Hack ability is unique to this General.

o GLA Overview

After its defeat at the hands of the Chinese and Americans, the GLA has licked its wounds, regrouped its remaining forces and remains poised to strike once again. Like an injured animal, GLA is at its most dangerous when cornered. Internal power struggles within its chain of command have led to the GLA becoming fragmented, with 3 Generals claiming overall battlefield supremacy. You will assume the role of one of these Generals each time you play. The following links will take you to more specific detailed briefings.

- Structure 'holes' have been enhanced. Workers will now emerge much quicker from a hole to rebuild its associated structure. Workers will also use specific voices to notify you of completion of this procedure.

- Angry Mobs have received additional training and will make use of a more random array of weapons such as rocks and guns. Selecting an Angry Mob allows you to instruct it to specifically throw 'molotov cocktail' petrol bombs at a target.

- Scorpion Tanks can now be ordered to fire their Scorpion Rockets at a target once they have been equipped.

- The Scud Storm now has an animation state to indicate that it is ready to fire, enabling Generals to quickly identify which one to use. The Scud Storm is no longer immune to its own damage and will now correctly deal more damage should it be equipped with the Anthrax Beta.

- Marauder Tanks have been re-engineered so that their turrets can rotate, improving their target acquisition and overall combat effectiveness.

- GLA Generals can now make use of Prisons in order to capture enemy soldiers. Click here for a detailed briefing of the Prison and the POW Truck.

- At 2 Star level, GLA Generals have the option to use an Emergency Repair. Since all GLA Generals have access to the Junk Repair ability, their Emergency Repair option conducts only light repairs but when used at the right time can make the difference between winning and losing during an encounter with the enemy.

- Jarmen Kell is now able to snipe vehicle drivers much more often when he reaches 'heroic' status, reflecting an improvement in his accuracy.

- At 5 Star level, GLA Generals have the option of dropping a stolen nuclear warhead, acquired through the Black Market, onto a target area. Although weaker than a normal nuke, the highly unstable nature of this crude weapon still inflicts considerable damage and contaminates an area with radiation.

- Again at 5 Star level, a GLA General can choose to employ the use of a deadly Viral Outbreak. Acting in a similar manner to Anthrax, this allows the GLA to initiate the outbreak of a deadly virus across a targeted area. The initial triggering of the virus can itself inflict considerable damage. Being the favored strategy of Bio Command Generals, this is perhaps the most feared weapon on the battlefield.

o Terrorist Cell

The Terrorist Cell General specilaizes in guerilla warfare and terrorism. The following abilities are unique to this General.

- Once you have chosen this General, your Workers will be able to construct Demo Traps when you have an Arms Dealer.

- This General is able to call exclusively upon Hijackers.

- At 2 Star level this General can make use of Paradrops. This ability allows the General to call upon a group of Fundamentalists from further afield who will be paradropped at the chosen location. Fundamentalists are civilian fanatics, religious extremists and political activists who have taken up arms for the GLA cause.

- In a similar manner to a Rebel Ambush, this General can activate a 'cell' of Terrorists at a chosen location.

- Radar Vans can be fitted with Radar Jamming equipment by this General, allowing the Radar Van to cast a shroud around itself which conventional radar is unable to penetrate.

- The AP Bullets upgrade is unique to this General.

o Warlord

The Warlord General is simply hell-bent on total destruction of his enemies, commanding entirely through fear and intimidation. The following abilities are unique to this General.

- Once you have chosen this General, your Workers will be able to construct Burning Barricades. These act as a crude defensive wall and will burn any infantry units that attempt to pass over them. When enemy units are within their proximity, the barricades are ignited to provide clouds of thick smoke as a crude means of limiting enemy sight. You must provide your Workers with this ability by supplying them with the required materials through an upgrade which can be purchased at the Barracks.

- Marauder Tanks can only be produced by this General.

- The ability to train Technicals so that they are produced at 'veteran' level is unique to this General.

- Uniquely, this General is able to provide Marauder Tanks and Quad Cannons with the ability to make better use of salvaged weaponry, allowing them to go one step further in weapon capability. Once this upgrade is purchased, the Marauder can become a tripple barrelled juggernaught capable of dealing extreme destructive power, whilst the Quad Cannon becomes a lethal rapid-firing unit with advanced aircraft target acquisition capabilities.

o Bio Command

On the surface, this General appears the least capable in the wider theater of military operation, however his ability to use biological weapons makes him the most feared and potentially the most lethal. The following abilities are unique to this General.

- Once you have chosen this General, your Workers will be able to construct Demo Traps when you have an Arms Dealer.

- SCUD Launchers can only be produced by this General.

- The Anthrax Beta upgrade can only be acquired by this General.

- This General has exclusive access to the Tarantula. This vehicle is provided as a means of protecting and moving troops in and around contaminated areas as the vehicle is very strongly armored and completely shielded against toxins and radiation. For defense, the vehicle is armed with a light twin-barelled cannon and, like Scorpion Tanks, will also be upgraded with a single missile upon purchase of the Scorpion Rocket upgrade.

o USA Overview

The USA has delineated its capability and placed each aspect of its military under the command of 3 Generals. You will assume the role of one of these Generals each time you play. This has provided USA Central Command with increased adaptability in the operational theater and improved collaboration between its Generals. The following links will take you to more specific detailed briefings.

- All USA Generals must now purchase a radar upgrade to their Command Centers. This is an inexpensive and relatively quick to produce upgrade and has been implemented in order to provide a clearer distinction between the playing styles of each General and to support enhanced battlefield reconaissance abilities provided to the Special Forces General.

- All units will now acknowledge the construction of a Drone Upgrade with specific voices and Drones have been re-engineered so that their movement speed is now relative to the unit to which they have been assigned, meaning faster units no longer leave their Drone too far behind when moving. In addition, the text which describes the Drone Armor Upgrade has been corrected as this Upgrade actually provides a 50% bonus. Scout Drones have also been enhanced - they will now support target acquisition of their parent vehicle by attempting to 'home in' on the nearest target, providing a 50% bonus to weapon range and rate of fire against that target.

- Ambulances will no longer attempt to pursue enemy units when they have been ordered to Guard. Instead, they will remain within the specified area and auto heal nearby friendly infantry. This function now has its own specific mouse cursor.

- Composite Armor Upgrade now provides all units with a 25% bonus meaning the Paladin for example benefits as it should do.

- Rangers will now inform you that a building is being, or has been, stolen in the same way that Rebels and Red Guard do.

- The Strategy Center has been improved in order to support the strategies of each of the 3 USA Generals. The descriptive text for the Strategy Center has been amended as Battle Plans do not affect Aircraft, Drones or POW Trucks. Strategy Centers are no longer revealed to enemies when constructed or when Battle Plans are changed, and Battle Plans are only announced to the player who initiated them in order to preserve the operational integrity of USA Generals. Strategy Centers now require more power to function and can now only be constructed after you have a War Factory.

- Having multiple Detention Centers no longer gives you multiple instances of the Intelligence ability. This ability is now shared across Detention Centers if you have more than one. Detention Centers also serve the purpose of providing POW Trucks. Click here for a detailed briefing on the use of POW Trucks.

- At 2 Star Level, all USA Generals are able to access the Spy Satellite ability as well as the Emergency Repair. This will now conduct medium repairs to vehicles.

- 5 Star Generals now have the option of calling upon Carpet Bombing strikes and Reinforcements which allow you to call in a Starlifter plane to drop 5 Crusader Tanks anywhere on the battlefield.

o Tank Command

The USA Tank Command General specializes in all-out ground assault, overwhelming enemies with sheer power. The following are available exclusively to Tank Command Generals.

- This General can build veteran level Crusader Tanks.

- The Paladin Tank is available only to Tank Command Generals and now benefits in the same way as all other vehicles from the Composite Armor Upgrade.

- Tank Command Generals have the ability to make use of the Leopard Tank. Affectionately named the 'Leapfrog' this tank can be upgraded so that it can hover and thus traverse bodies of water, transforming it into an amphibious assault unit. Leopards are quicker than Crusaders but less armored. The price of the Crusader has been reduced to supplement the addition of the Leopard Tank.

- Tomahawks can be upgraded with an Assisted Targeting module, allowing all Tomahawks in a group to function as one cohesive unit, thus providing significantly enhanced bombardment capabilities as well as enhancing the units target acquisition when employed in a defensive capability. In this mode, Tomahawks will automatically support eachother by firing their Cruise Missiles simultaneously in one powerful salvo.

o Air Force

The USA Air Force General specializes in aerial bombardment and attacks, dealing death from above and securing total air supremacy. The following are available exclusively to Air Force Generals.

- The Stealth Fighter is available only to Air Force Generals and will now indicate to its user when it has been 'locked on' by enemy anti-aircraft fire, allowing it to be diverted.

- Air Force Generals can build veteran level Raptors and have exclusive access to the A10 Air Strike which has been enhanced for maximum effectiveness. Both the Stealth Fighter and Raptor can be upgraded with 'afterburners' from the Airfield which provide them with extra speed.

- From the Airfield, this General can upgrade all jet aircraft with additional fuel, allowing jets to remain airborne and/or patrol for a longer period of time without crashing in the absence of an Airfield or vacant landing spot.

- Through the Strategy Center, Air Force Generals can request that all auxilliary support aircraft be fitted with advanced armor, providing them with extra protection thus ensuring delivery of their ordinance. This includes B52 bombers as well as Cargo and Transport planes.

- Aurora bombers have been improved and will remain in supersonic mode for slightly longer. Auroras create a sonic boom upon takeoff which can be heard by all players on the battlefield - a warning of impending destruction.

o Special Forces

The USA Special Forces General specializes in intelligence, covert operations and small unit tactics. The following are available exclusively to Special Forces Generals.

- This General can train veteran level Rangers and at 4 Star Level can request a Paradrop of ten of these.

- The Pathfinder sniper is available only to Special Forces Generals. When the Pathfinder has reached 'hero' status he will dive to the floor when attacking providing himself with a longer range.

- Uniquely, this General is able to deploy Reconnaisance Drones. These can be used as a more cost effective alternative to Dozers for clearing minefields, positioned to aid the detection of 'stealthed' objects or simply used for scouting the battlefield. Although any number of Reconnaisance Drones can be used, it should be noted that they are unmanned units which operate by remote control and as such each one requires power to function. Should you run low on power or even lose your power supply, any Reconnaisance Drones will be rendered inoperable until you can restore sufficient power. To support their scouting capability, these Drones are heavily shielded from Radiation and Toxins.

- This General is also able to make use of Sappers. These elite soldiers are more expensive than Rangers, although they are well camouflaged and can place explosive charges on enemy vehicles.

Whew! That's most of it. As you can see, it has a ton of improvements and changes, including new units, general powers, strategies, etc. I highly recommend it!

Come to think of it that could get pretty defening and pointless in some games like that one with the two bases seperated by a big river, as planes are the only way to go and you can have a constant stream of auroras :)
Could just get pointless at around that juncture

Generals (this is presuming you instaled C&C to the default dircetory)
3) Open the folder called 'The mod'.

4) In here should be a folder called 'INI'. Remove it.
5) Still in the Data folder ther should be a folder called 'english'. Open it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Multiplayer
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To use the mod in Multiplayer games BOTH sides will require the mod. I have not tried the mod over the
internet (I'm a Uni student and can't afford Broadband ;o) ). However it has been tried and tested on
Network games and it does work.

The best Sea map I've found as of yet for Multiplayer games IMO is 'Dread Island' by ZHaDuM
(John Burzenski) You may want to download it.

4. Changes to Game
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As mentioned:
The Black Napalm and the Gattling Cannon upgrades are now located in the Propaganda center
The Scorpion Missile Upgrade are now located in the Black market

Further:
The Stealth Fighter's damage and cost has gone up slightly
The Scudstorm's damage has gone up slightly

Scaling
The 'infantry units' (including civilians) have been scaled down to a more releastic size (personaly it
bugged me that the men were all 10" giants. Now they're aprox about 6"5' which is closer to reality)

The new upgrades
Sea Armour: This improves the health of all sea vessels (bar the PT Boat) by 25%
Sea Auto-Repair: Gives all sea vessels (bar the PT Boat) auto-repair
Both cost $3,000 and are researched in either the, Strategy Center (U.S.), Propganda Center (China) or
Palace (GLA)

Rank points
You now recieve 9 Rank Points rather than 7. You recieve 1 Point for achiving 1st Rank & another for the
2nd Rank. Then 2 points for achiving the 3rd Rank and another 2 Points for the 4th. The Final 5th Rank
awards 3 Points

Armageddon weapons
Such as Nukes, Particle Cannons etc have had there recharge time increased by 50% (so now the Nuke takes
9 minutes to reload instead of 6 minutes)

Colour changes
New 'military' colours have been added to the Multiplayer menu and the default colours for the races have
been set to military colours

Camera
Max Zoom extended slightly

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Changes since R2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All the tooltips have been written and Toolbar pictures created

US Command Vehicle
The CV can carry up to 8 soldiers and can call in a 'Carpet Bomb' strike

GLA Palace
Can now hold one more unit, calls in a 'Black Market Nuke' and has all of its research tech transferred
to the Black Market. The cost has gone up to $4,000

GLA Black Market
Now researches all the upgrades

GLA Airfield
This is a new building that can be built. It can be occupied with up to 9 soldiers and can build 'GLA
Planes'

GLA Hovercraft
Removed the ship repair upgrade from GLA and alowed the Hovercraft to self repair when the 'Junk Repair'
is purchased

China Red Guard
Have regained a Bayonet attack (instant kill melee attack)

China Command & Control
This is a new building that can be built. It can be occupied with up to 8 soldiers and can call in a
Napalm Strike

The GLA have gained a new purchasable science, the Terror Cell. This is similar to Rebel Ambush but
instead a small group of terrorists are created.

The Carpet Bomb has been replaced for a model that doesn't look as tacky

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. Problems
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two known:

World Eddittor:
Unfortunatly it won't work with the mod. Simply rename or remove the INI folder temparly from the DATA
folder when using World Edditor and replace after.

But its saying: Technical Fault every time I load it up???
Simple question are you using the mod (namely INI file mods) in conjuction with the 'New Tech Mod'? If
so that could be your reason. Try a fresh install if possible. I do know that C&C gets very upset if the
files in the INI folder (especialy in the object folder) have any illogical components.
Your best bet is a fresh install and I hope that helps.

Note: You should use Hovercrafts to transport sea vessels built on land to the sea!!!!
