Great Lan Jason Cheesy

Nice to meet some of the lanse bunch and the VBDH gang were a good laugh. Thanks for the fun and games, I need to work on my shared folder for next time. My only regret is not going to Lanse's partys sooner tbh, oh and sucking at dota Tongue

Viki and myself had a great time and hope to come in December if all goes well

Cheers

Funny how a 7 rocket car pile up was fine and the 8 car pile crashed the network

I was the slow 8th on the first one Tongue

Great LAN, really enjoyed it.

Thank's to VBDH & others for setting up & breaking down the tables etc - it'd have taken me ages on my own.

Good bits:

2142 (supprisingly good)
Curry was very nice (despite the wait) & cheap.
No hardware problems to speak of.
Lots of new faces (and some ladies)
Flatout
1942
Lots of other games played.
Got some Roses left

Bad bits:
Bit fragmented
Breakfast (fook how expensive!), back to the wendovers / tony's next time.
Daves / Adams car funnies. (Adam did you figure out what happened?)
No one played GTR2!!!
Very little CS

That's about it.

See you all in December.

wicked LAN

need to make sure i have time put aside for further ones, it reallly has been too long since my last LAN.

more slightly organised gaming would be good.

no, i didn't find out what happened to my car. But int eh end, there was no harm done so i'm not htat bothered.

Lo,

Little disappointed with the LAN this time.

Not playing that many games myself (Q4 online and a little BF:V still) I found I was sitting about doing nothing (borked net connection)(not even porn cause of the ladies Wink)

Pros
2142 - really enjoyed the odd games we played of this, glad I had it on backorder.
1942 - always a laugh
Q3A - can't beat a bit of Quake, although something other then Istagib would be nice.  CTFS for example?
Kebab place - nice chinese man gave me free chips while I waited Cheesy
Roses - they were in date weren't they ? Smiley
Tuck shop - Nice and convenient.

Cons
Q4 - I think this should be looked at again, it's easy to get running now and you don't need £300 of gfx card anymore to play it. (instagib, CTFS all available)
All in games - more required please! BF:V, 2142, BF1942, CSS, Quake anything!.  I'm sure there was enough of us to get some big games going.
CSS - Did we even play this ?
Net Connection - what happened ?  At the last lan while everyone was playing DOTA, etc I was able to play online.  This time though the connection was seriously b0rked, probably adding to my unenjoyment of the LAN. Yes I know the net connection is a huge bonus, but for a quake head like me, it's nice to be able to hop on a server and play while others do there thing.
Breakfast - OMFG nuff said I think.  Where does Tony park up ?  Can't we call through and go get food ? Smiley  Or how much would it cost to get him there ?  ie I don't mind paying him some cash if he doesn't get the orders? Hell tell him to put the price up to £5 for a breakfast baguette and a coffee!
Noise - some ppl are just to BAD LOUD!
Sleeping - more space required when that many ppl go ?

Thinks that it

Any new from the photo man ?

I didn't realise there was a WWW problem?

Others were playing on-line / browsing?

We did try CS:S a couple of times, but there was not much interest.

Agreed with Q4 - but it does struggle with lots of players.

We tried UT2004 as well, but not that meny people joined. . .

RE tony's - that's not a bad idea about increasing the price - I shoulda thought about that, when it's cold n wet - wendovers is better tho.

Agree with vin there, we should get a lot more all in games going, just like back in the old days where we would set 2 teams for the w/e and battle it out for the tub of worms ect Smiley .

:sarcasm: breakfast was fantastic, we should go again :/sarcasm:

December lan looks like the last one i will be able to attend for a long time due to january onwards job commitments, so just for me everyone come and get some great lanage going.

p.s. To the person that tried to balance rubber egg shaped balls on me while i was sleeping, if you got any photos let me see Smiley .

p.p.s To the person that put frisbees in my bed while i was sleeping, i hope you didnt touch anything else while you were in there Shocked .

Note to Jase, dont use the frisbees again, i farted in close proximity to them.

Someone behind me mentioned the WWW was playing up on the Friday night so I assumed you knew.  nm.

Just need a decent server for Q4, I could sort something out if it was going to be used for that and other games.  But I probably wont make the next one.  to close to christmas.

Pretty good LAN, far too little CS:S and not enough all in games, 2142 would have been better with everyone playing, as would 1942.

I wasnt too keen on BF2142 until we played the titan levels which were a lot like tribes, which is cool, the straight domination maps were pants tho.

At one point there were some ppl playing BF2, some playing BF2142 and some playing UT, 3 all in games at once = 3 crap games, I think we need a rigid schedule of games being played, with time before we start for people to install & patch, like we did back in the days of the 1942 tournaments.

Generally an enjoyable LAN, but a bit to fragmented.

Also, why did we end up at the curry centre? The vote seemed to be heading towards F&Bs?

Hopefully we'll have more cash for December Lan tho
