Damn fine lan, the best this year! Looking forward to the next already. The new room was way better than I thought it would be. How did the wooden floor hold out?

Great LAN,
Good turnout.
Better room (both in Temprature, layout & size).

Played lots of:
1942,
COD2 (not as much as i'd like),
CS:S
BF2 (not as  much as i'd like).
Tried Q3 Instagib - only 10 ppl in :(
Also played DOTA & C&CG ZH

Big thanks to:
VBDH - for putting togethor all the tables
Roo, Morbundi, Open & Neo for tidying up.

Some problems:
 - Intranet server died (disk failure due to movement from old room?).
 - COD2 (1.3) wouldn't install on the game server
 - Fragmentation.
 - Users not being able to access other machines.
 - Users not being able to run some games.
 - Users not having games installed - (not willing to install).

Solutions to the problems:

 - Get new server back from Kerr & install www & proxy to replace existing Proxy & www servers.
 - Put all files on said server with easy interface.
 - Get cod2 running on game server. . .
 - On intranet say:
   * Disable your fookin' firewalls / uninstall Zone Alarm & command to reset TCP/IP.
   * Update your Gfx Drivers (link to ATI & Nvidia drivers on intranet)
   * Ask people to install "Common" games on Friday night, with list of games to be played, & links to install files.
   * Instructions for how to quickly install CS:S (using the "drag 'n drop method".
 - Re-enable the blocking of file sharing during peak times

anything other than the bf2, cs, 1942 & cod2 was proving difficult to do as people seemed reluctant to install different games.

Perhaps with the files being more readily available on the intranet this would resolve the issue. . .

Yeah I think it was more a case of the suggestions were things people didn't have or old games people had got rid of <cough>BF1942</cough>.  Most of the games I had installed weren't suggested like UT2K4, poor UT never gets a look in any more :'-(
