clicky

I know many don't believe it is happening, while some chose to ignore it and others think if they never do anything wrong then they have nothing to fear but it looks like they are starting to soften us up for the next step in the automated monitoring systems. This "leak" is, of course, well considered such that by the time the system goes live we are fed up hearing about it and it is no longer considered news by the media.

Time to join. NOW. http://www.abd.org.uk/

'As it will be a lot easier and cheaper to fine the law-abiding but forgetful than it will be to deal with the hardline serial offenders, we think we can guess which way this one will go'

just like all the other new laws then. And they don't even mention car 'ghosting' which will become much more prevalent.

I am sick to death of speeding drivers being treated as the #1 crime in the UK.

Imagine what a more undesirable government could do with surviellance infrastructures like that ...

You just have to hope that the checks and balances involved in the political system are enough to stop this.

Mind you, Hitler was voted into power, he didn't sieze it.

I really don't know how they propose to lock down on crimb and uninsured people TBH

If your gonna break the law (other than speeding) you are:

- going to avoid motorways
- have the car registered at a fake address
- use false plates registered to a "similar" car
- not care.

Hmm, time to commence 'Operation lets all go out the smash up the speed cameras' I think, if enough people did it they'd soon just run out of funding.

I would also have serious worries about who this data is available to, our local paper recently had an article about how the DVLA sell motorist's personal details to organisations such as NCP without hesitation. And if thats not bad enough, they called the DVLA claiming to be a parking enforcement company, and bought the personal details (including name, address, phone number etc) of their cars, just by telling them the vehicles registration number and paying by credit card!

If they can do it with static databases, whats to stop them doing it with these new tracking systems?

As i mentioned on the Fragland list, i worked on this project up until june this year.

I was incharge if relocatiing the test/dev enviroment from hemel to sunbury over last xmas.

This is not what the register says it is.
The 400yards camera stuff is made up load a cods wallop.

the project is for linking 5 sites for survalnce in london on special events or security threats. There is some ANPR involved but there basically isnt the technolagy to record 2 years of ANPR records suffient for legal prosicution.

The monitoring centers are mainly manual (bods looking at screens).

As i said on the fragland list.. when are people going to relize that Big Brother does not exist.

After seeing this i called my old company, it looks like this project is getting shelved anyway.

so essentially they just want limited fixed versions of what you've already put onto bikes & cars - which can be watched remotely around CC

No, what there trying to do is scare people to do the speed limit, insure there car, tax there car and so on and so forth by letting rumours get out of hand.

I already have people at my work saying "those trafficmaster cameras are recording your number plate, and, im not getting sat nav, they could be watching me, ect ect.

I personally let them get on with it, as i find it rather ammusing listening to them squabble.

Thanks for the info tux Smiley

hmmm I'd rather be watching the road than my speedo

I would lay good money on the fact that no matter how good a driver you are you will break the speed limit at least once a week if not once a day.

A speed limit is a poor substitute for a safe driving environment...
