Valve have finally broken the silence on DOTA 2, and have released the following

Sounds pretty interesting - especially the matchmaking which hasn't been that great in HoN.

Valve Press release:
Quote
"Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced Dota 2, a massive sequel for one of the most played games in the world.

Coming to the PC & Mac in 2011, Dota 2 promises to take the unique blend of online RTS and RPG action that has made Dota popular with tens of millions of gamers and expand upon it in every way."

1943 on PC delayed until Q1 2010

EA have announced that 1943 on PC will be pushed back till next year  Sad

EA has confirmed that the final installment of its RTS franchise Command & Conquer will be unplayable for anyone without a constant internet connection.

While this means that the game will ship without any kind of DRM, many fans of the series are angry about the restrictions it will place on their gaming.

Since even the single-player campaign requires a live connection, it will no longer be possible to play C&C in situations where it may be hard or impossible to go online – for example, on buses, trains, or flights.

LAN play, which has been a staple of C&C players since the game’s first appearance in the mid-‘90s, is also set to suffer from EA’s decision thanks to the difficulties involved with connecting multiple machines on a local area network to the internet.

C&C has long set the benchmark for strategy game sales, but with EA’s decision so at odds with a large segment of its core fanbase it will be interesting to see how well the final game in the series performs once it goes on sale next year.

You will be able to pre-order Windows 7 between 15th of July & the 9th of August from the M$ site.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/buy/offers/pre-order.aspx

These will be a full install - not an upgrade.

The version available to the EU is the -E package - which does not have Internet explorer bundled with it.

Not sure which retailers at the mo.
